Coupé

Coupé owes its unmistakable silhouette to classical forms read afresh through a contemporary lens. Poised between vintage charm and modern function, the collection is defined by rounded volumes stacked one upon another in the manner of the 1960s and 1970s.

Design: Giampiero Tagliaferri

The debt to twentieth-century modernism shows in the softness of the shapes and in the refinement of the couture detailing. Here curved ergonomics meet the pronounced horizontality of the upholstered headrest and lumbar support elements, producing a visual momentum that carries all the way through to the armrest.

Tagliaferri speaks of a deep respect for the past at the heart of the design, a homage to an era when sofas with their inclined seats moulded themselves to the body and offered refinement alongside comfort of a kind not seen before. With its extensive choice of modules, Coupé works equally well as a full seating group or as individual elements standing entirely on their own.
